ROCK HILL – Old Town Market will open for the season on Thursday, May 10th, from 5 pm to 8 pm in a new location: 190 Dave Lyle Boulevard, at the corner of Dave Lyle Boulevard and E. White Street. This is Rock Hill’s amazing farmers market where fresh local produce, farm products, flowers, plants, and handmade arts-n-crafts are made available to the community.
Grand opening festivities will include:
- Live music by The Perfect Melancholies
- Kids planting flowers to take home, thanks to Lovern Landscape and Greenhouse
- Pickles Da Clown and ‘Rapunzel’ with balloon sculptures and face painting
- Woodturning demonstrations by Joel Ackerman of Pops Woodturning
- Periwinkle Café and Bakery with cold drinks and bakery items for sale
- Door prizes
Old Town Market will remain open until September 1st according to the following schedule:
- Thursdays: 5 pm to 8 pm
- Saturdays: 8 am to 12 noon
Old Town Market features the freshest locally-grown fruits and vegetables, farm-fresh eggs, local honey, flowers and plants, grass-fed beef, pastured chicken and pork, and much more. It also includes a wide variety of handmade works by local artisans and crafters, such as natural soaps, jewelry, aprons, leaf castings, pottery, candles and woodturned items, to name a few. Like last season, Thursday evening markets will continue to be lively, family-friendly events with free musical entertainment, fun children’s activities, and more! Credit cards are accepted at Old Town Market, in exchange for Old Town Market Money that can be spent with any market vendors. Select vendors also accept WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Vouchers. Volunteers and vendors are welcome throughout the season.
